Stoney Point Grill OTB is Reopened for Business

Stoney Point Grill, Hawthorne Race Course’s off-track betting facility in Mokena will host a grand reopening on Thursday, March 14.  Located just off of I-80 on South La Grange Road in Mokena, Hawthorne first opened an OTB within Stoney Point Grill in 2003.


The reopening of the Stoney Point Grill OTB is to celebrate the location’s recent remodel, which includes over 30 new flat panel televisions, new furniture and a complete reconfiguration of the space. “Our new OTB space at Stoney Point Grill is a very comfortable room with more seating for our customers,” said Hawthorne assistant general manager, John Walsh, “This is the fifth of the sixth Club Hawthorne OTBs to be remodeled and the space looks great. The restaurant portion of Stoney Point grill has always been really nice and the food is fantastic. With the remodel, the OTB side matches.”


Coinciding with the reopening is a handicapping Pool Party, hosted by the Stickney racetrack. A fan favorite promotion, the Pool Party is an event designed to give players expert handicapping tips and insight to wagering on horse races. The party is from 1-4 p.m. on March 14. For $20, participants receive a portion of the $500 betting pool, a lunch meal and two drinks, along with advice from long-time Hawthorne trainers Chris Dorris and Hugh Robertson, as moderated by Hawthorne’s on-air handicapper, Angela Hermann.


Following the Pool Party, Stoney Point Grill will host a Chicago Blackhawks Road Watch Party. Blackhawks fans will be able to watch the team take on the Columbus Blue Jackets, while meeting the Bud Light Ice Crew. The game starts at 6:00 p.m., but the first 100 fans at the event will win a Blackhawks souvenir. Everyone is eligible to win autographed prizes throughout the evening.


Fans can enjoy food and beverage specials at Stoney Point Grill every day of the week, including the restaurant’s popular 1-2-3-4 drink specials every Tuesday and Thursday. This special includes a $1 shot of the day, $2 domestic bottles, $3 well drinks and $4 “Gentlemen” drinks (Jose Cuervo tequila, Jack Daniels Tennessee Wiskey and Jim Beam Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey). The restaurant also offers food specials, including a 16 ounce pork chop entrée for $14.99 on Thursdays and all you can eat fish fry for $14.99 on Fridays.
