Mandatory Payout in
Hawthorne Hi-5 Saturday
STICKNEY, IL – With a growing carryover that is approaching
$200,000, the Jackpot tag will be removed from the Hi-5 wager at Hawthorne on
Saturday night as a mandatory payout will be put in place. The Jackpot Hi-5 wager at Hawthorne has not
been won by a single winner in over a month as the carryover has grown to
$189,900. The mandatory payout on the
Hi-5 will take place in Hawthorne’s final race on Saturday night, race
eleven.
Race
eleven on Saturday is a very evenly matched 12-horse pace
for fillies and mares with an anticipated post of 11:10 PM Central time. The Hi-5 at Hawthorne is a $.20 base minimum wager. Past performances for race eleven will be available
for free on the United States Trotting Association website at www.ustrotting.com. Past performances can
be found on the website in the Handicapping section under the Strategic
Wagering Program tab.
With the
large carryover in the Hi-5, the pool for the wager is expected to exceed
$500,000.
Hawthorne Race Course, Chicago’s
Hometown Track, races three meets in 2021.
The spring thoroughbred meet concluded on April 25. The summer Suburban
Downs at Hawthorne harness meet began Friday, May 7 and races every
Friday-Sunday until September 26. The
fall thoroughbred meet opens October 1 and races through December 26. First
post nightly for harness is 7:10 PM. Beginning in June, post time on Sunday
