Forgettable Friday For Frog
Very few horses came from the back of the pack on Friday evening. It was another night where you had to be relatively close at the top of the lane. Two major exceptions to that rule were CR Fixed Asset who came home in an astonishing :25 flat in race six and Rain Dance Me Kim who rallied from 6th at the top of the lane in race eight. It was great to see Loyal Opposition in action once again on the local scene and her presence her on the Night Of Champions should make that evening even more special.
We started the night off fine as we connected on a $10 Pick Three that added $68 to the bankroll.
In race four we were close in our exacta play but we didn’t use our fourth selection at 36-1 and it cost us dearly. Buckmaker looked like a winner in race six until he made a break when he either struck a wheel or got doubled up when the horse he let go slowed the pace considerably. Fox Valley Diamond raced first over in the 9th race and tired right before the wire. In our last wager, Black Oliver failed to really fire and he finished fourth. For the evening we wagered $190, and we got a return of $68. Let’s hope for better on this next card.
Original Bankroll: $2,000
Total Wagered: $2,514
Total Return: $2,562.30
Current Bankroll: $2,048.30 (thru Friday, 5/26)
For Saturday, May 27, 2006
Race One: Out On A Bender was a confident winner in his latest start and a similar effort should be good enough to handle these. Bluebird Wolf has won 4 of his last 5 starts and look to be the main competition. We’ll use these two in a Pick Three with Hot N Sporty in the 2nd, who came out ready in his first start of the year, and Claudius Q in the 3rd, who usually is dominant in these $4,000 claimers.
$10 Pick Three – Out On A Bender (2) and Bluebird Wolf (3) in the 1st, Hot N Sporty (5) in the 2nd and Claudius Q (3) in the 3rd.
Total Wager: $20
Race Four: Constant Change had no chance last week when he got shuffled and lacked racing room. Fox Valley Gallant just missed with a big close in leg one. Team Hutch is another who needed some racing room and should be closer tonight. We’ll box these three in an exacta play.
$5 Exacta Box – Constant Change (2), Fox Valley Gallant (5) and Team Hutch (7).
Total Wager: $30
Race Five: Leapn Lizard Ofahz had a great close in last race to blow by the field. This short field only helps his chances and the move to the Warren barn won’t hurt either. It’s a straight play.
$20 Win & $20 Place on Leapn Lizard Ofahz (3).
Total Wager: $40
Race Nine: Abouttolosecontrol finished a nice third in a start that he certainly needed. Expect better tonight. Motu Elite Hanover was very impressive in U.S. debut and figures to right there in the end. Let’s box these two in an exacta play.
$10 Exacta Box – Abouttolosecontrol (2) and Motu Elite Hanover (7)
Total Wager: $20
Race Eleven: Gangsta Rap has been a monster at our meet winning all three of his starts. I’m going to string along with him. Tropical Fantasy and E C K should be right there at the finish. We’ll use these in a trifecta play.
$2 Trifecta Wheel – Gangsta Rap (8) on top with Tropical Fantasy (2) and E C K (7) in the two hole with ALL.
Total Wager: $32
