Carryovers Galore Sunday at Hawthorne

STICKNEY, IL – A Saturday night full of upsets at Hawthorne has led to a Sunday card that will have some sort of carryover covering the entire 10 race card.  First post on Sunday at Hawthorne is 7:10 PM Central as a fast track is expected.

The first carryover of the evening is the biggest at Hawthorne as race one will be the start of the Pick 5 wager.  Despite a carryover going into Saturday’s Hawthorne card, nobody was able to select all five winners on a ticket, leading to a $29,791 carryover into Sunday’s action.   Through Hawthorne’s partnership with the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program, a $100,000 guaranteed pool will be put up for Sunday’s Pick 5.  Free past performances are available now at www.USTrotting.com.  The Pick 5 at Hawthorne has a 15% takeout rate and is a $.50 minimum bet.

Race three on Sunday starts the early Pick 4 wager.  That pool also had no winners Saturday, leading to a $3,053 carryover.  The Pick 4 also has a 15% takeout race and is a $.50 minimum wager.

Race 5 starts the $2 Pick 6 which carries nearly $1,000 into its pool Sunday.  Race 7 Sunday starts the Late Pick 4 wager.  Saturday also saw nobody catch this wager, as $10,477 carries into tonight’s card.  A $40,000 guaranteed pool has been put in place for the Late Pick 4 with past performances for this sequence also available for free at www.USTrotting.com.

Lastly, Race 10 has the Jackpot High 5.  A multi-day carryover in this wager has grown to $14,511.  A single winning ticket takes the pool in the Jackpot High 5.

Hawthorne Race Course, Chicago’s Hometown Track, returned for live harness racing on Saturday, February 15 and races through Sunday, September 20.  Post time nightly is 7:10 PM.  Fall thoroughbreds close out the year, running from October 2 through December 26.  For more information, visit www.Hawthorneracecourse.com or contact Hawthorne at 708-780-3700.
