Hawthorne Stable Notes for Wednesday, November 4, 2009

This is a big week of racing and things look to be good for the entire week ahead.  With the Breeders’ Cup ahead of us, there should be a ton of great racing action, and we will have all of the action available for wagering right here at Hawthorne.  Make note, on Friday, our first post will be 2:00 PM as we will run races between the Breeders’ Cup races.  On Saturday, we have a 12:35 PM first post and will have a fine 10 race card.

With a week of nice weather, expect a good amount of turf racing too. We are back on the grass today for the fifth race and the turf is listed as yielding.  The main track is fast and I expect a very competitive card.  Expect the track to play very evenly once again.

For those of you driving to Hawthorne this weekend, a reminder. The Cicero Avenue bridge over the canal is closed through Sunday.  The best ways to come into the track are either off of I-290 on Central or Cicero or on Central Ave. from I -55.

Best Bet

Race 2 - #9 – Yonatowka – A five year old mare that has had success over this track.  She has posted a solid work since her last start and has won over this track three times.  With Skinny Legs N All out, it completely opens up the race.

Race 4 - #4 – Ash – A very nice allowance race that has a ton of pace to chase. She should be able to tuck in nicely and come running in the lane. Expect a solid performance at a price.
