Frog Stays Afloat

FROG DOOLEY

For Thursday, May 18, 2006A fierce downpour complete with hail engulfed the track about an hour and a half before post on Wednesday, thus once again, the track surface became sloppy. Nevertheless, the track played fairly formful for the first six races as post time favorites captured five of those races. However, chalk players took a bath after that as a pair of $100 winners exploded onto the scene. Sporty Jayla connected at 55-1 in the 7th race and S S Future came home at 52-1 in the 9th. Needless to say, there will be a carryover on the Pick Four.

The Frog came out firing in the 1st race and it paid off. We had a $20 exacta on Tomato and Fox Valley Shimmy that paid us $70. We also hit the $2 Pick Three with Tomato, Party At Joyces in the 2nd and Giza in the 3rd that added $44.60. Better yet, we connected on our $20 win parlay that started with $20 on Tomato. We put all our winnings of $32 back on Giza. When Giza won we put our $65 of winnings back on Go Go Gabby. “Gabby” won and our parlay ticket was worth $110.50. We also had $20 and $20 on both Giza and Go Go Gabby separately that netted us $78 and $62. We lost our final wager on Hereshecomesagain in the 9th.  We wagered $204 and received a return of $365.30.

Original Bankroll: $2,000

Total Wagered: $1,634

Total Return: $1,746.90

Current Bankroll: $2,112.90  (thru Wednesday, 5/17)

Race One:   Trivoli and Earlivic appear to be the top contenders in this leg one of the Brandenburg Stake, while Miss Pioneer and Kenny’s Dream look to be the most formful in race two. We’ll hook these up with Litigator in the third for a Pick Three play to start off the night.

$5 Pick Three – Trivoli (3) and Earlivic (5) in the 1st, with Miss Pioneer (2) and Kenny’s Deam (9) in the 2nd, with Litigator (7) in the 3rd.

Total Wager:  $20

Race Three:  Litigator is undefeated in 2006 and should keep that streak intact tonight. We’ll key him on top with Crown Vic and Dancing Offtoplay in the two hole in a trifecta play.

$2 Trifecta Key – Litigator (7) on top with Crown Vic (4) and Dancing Offtoplay (5) in the two-hole will all.

$5 Trifecta Key – Litigator (7) on top with Crown Vic (4) and Dancing Offtoplay (5).

Total Wager:  $30

Race Four:  Squawsalot had a rough journey in his last two starts and raced well. The rail gives him the edge in here. Boom Shockalaka closed well last start and is the main threat. I’m boxing these two in an exacta.

$10 Exacta Box – Squawsalot (1) and Boom Shockalaka (4).

Total Wager:  $20

Race Seven:    Fancy Cat was parked a long way and raced well last time out. Independent Babe always right there and draws inside. Rhonda can come up with some huge efforts at times. Let’s box these three in an exacta play.

$5 Exacta Box – Independent Babe (1), Rhonda (4) and Fancy Cat (7).

Total Wager:  $30

Race Eight:   Droppin’thehammer raced evenly in a needed start, drops and draws the rail. Upitagain N was off two months, but takes a huge class drop and should be in the thick of it. It’s an exacta play.

$10 Exacta Box – Droppin’thehammer (1) and Upitagain N (4).

Total Wager:  $20

TOTAL WAGERED: $120
