Frog's Glass Now Half Full

FROG DOOLEY

It was great to see the Grand Circuit races come to Hawthorne Wednesday night for the first time.

Go Go Gabby was an easy winner in the World Series for 3 year-old filly trotters and Superior Judge was impressive in his first start, winning the World Series 2 year-old colt trot despite making a break early in the race. It’s hard to believe that were already at the conclusion of the Hawthorne harness meet. Up until just 8 days ago, we were ahead of the game with our bankroll. This past week or so has been a rough time for the Frog, but as long as we still have some ammo, we are dangerous. Tonight we will be betting a total of $678 in a quest to get back over that $2,000 mark on the bankroll. It’s been fun, and I hope you enjoyed following the Frog.

On Wednesday, we began the night with a Pick Three play, and as luck would have it we hit the first two races, but couldn’t nail the final leg as Mighty Looker cost us the Pick Three and $100. In race four, we caught the exacta for $5 with Twistan and Sugar Bear that added $104.50 to our total. H P’s Nirvana failed us in race eight, costing us another c-note. Then in race ten, our exacta pick was off the board. We wagered $330 and got back $104.50. We’ll this is it, tonight’s the night, if we’re going down, we’re going down with guns ablazin’!

Original Bankroll:   $2000
Total Wagered:    $5,818
Total Return:       $4,818.30
Current Bankroll:    $1,000.30 (thru Wednesday, 6/12)

For Thursday, June 15, 2006
Race One:   Amazon Clipper is fresh and ready to fire in his first stake test of the season. Roman Holiday has been racing well over our oval and appears to be the main threat. We will key these two in the double with Incredible Art, who drops to meet easier and will not be chasing Motu Elite Hanover and Lotta Fire Power, who was a winner the last time he raced in this class.

$20 Daily Double – Amazon Clipper (2) and Roman Holiday (4) in the 1st with Lotta Fire Power (4) and Incredible Art (6).

Total Wager:  $80

Race Three:    Too Bust To Cook looks ready to enter the racing wars and should be in control from the start. Fox Valley Deja has a pair of impressive qualifying victories and is the main danger. We’ll box these two youngsters in an exacta play.

$20 Exacta Box – Fox Valley Deja (3) and Too Busy To Cook (5).

Total Wager:  $40

Race Six:    Best Always raced very well in his last outing chasing home a very nice horse. The move to the two post gives him the edge against this bunch. It’s a straight up play.

$50 Win & $50 Place on Best Always (1).

Total Wager:  $100

Race Ten:      He’s Got It All moves inside and to a new barn that has been having a pretty good meet. With the moves inside I am expecting an improved effort and perhaps a decent price. It’s a straight play.

$50 Win & $50 Place on He’s Got It All (2).

Total Wager:  $100

TOTAL WAGERED: $320
