Frog Sez -- Go to the Front!

FROG DOOLEY

For Friday, May 19, 2006
The trend on Thursday night appeared to favor the front-end again. All winners were no worse than 4th and no further back than 2 ˝ lengths at the three-quarter pole. Anything attempting to come from way off the pace had absolutely no luck whatsoever. Hopefully, we can begin to see a little bit of consistency if the rain can stay away for a few days in a row. The bottom line appears to be to get close at the head of the lane and hope for the best. On the lead, in the two-hole, first-over and second-over are the places to be.

The Frog started out losing his first wager, the Pick Three in races 1-2-3. As is usually the case, we had 2 of 3. We had a small trifecta in the 3rd race, keying Trivoli, but it only paid $21.40. We also hit a $10 exacta in race four with Boom Shockalaka and Squawsalot, but that only added $38 to our bankroll. We lost all hope on our exacta box in the 7th race when Independent Babe broke before the start and Fancy Cat got parked the mile. Finally, our exacta play in race eight finished 1-4. For the evening we wagered $120 and put pack $59.40 into our pocket.

Original Bankroll: $2,000

Total Wagered: $1,754

Total Return: $1,806.30

Current Bankroll: $2,052.30  (thru Thursday, 5/18)

Race One:   Free is in fantastic form and will be difficult to stop in here. Sherri On Ice raced a game second in the White Sox Final and is the major threat. We’ll box these two in an exacta, and use Just Believe, who has flashed some nice form as two-hole saver.

$20 Exacta Box – Sherri On Ice (3) and Free (6).

$5 Exacta Key – Sherri On Ice (3) and Free (6) on top with Just Believe (5) in the two-hole.

Total Wager:  $50

Race Three:  Fox Valley Dante had a suggestive effort in his last start. Festivus is a two-time beaten favorite who should have better striking position tonight. Depravedhedonist had big close to win first Hawthorne start.

We’ll box these three in an exacta play.

$5 Exacta Box – Fox Valley Dante (3), Festivus (5) and Depravedhedonist (6).

Total Wager:  $30

Race Five:  Lou Annie was absolutely brilliant in her start here last Sunday. Try and catch her. Parklane Powerful should be on the move earlier. Live cover the key. We’ll box these two in an exacta.

$20 Exacta Box – Lou Annie (3) and Parklane Powerful (7).

Total Wager:  $40

Race Seven:   Die Lute had a game effort from the outside and draws inside tonight. Major Macintosh got shuffled back last time and a clean trip puts him right there. Let’s box these two classy veterans.

$10  Exacta Box – Die Lute (2) and Major Macintosh (5).

Total Wager:  $20
