Frog Can Take the Heat!

FROG DOOLEY

It was unseasonably warm on Sunday evening at Hawthorne and once again the track played fairly true to form. The track surface has been receiving rave reviews from the horsemen that I have talked to and the general reasoning is that this surface is much more forgiving to horses that might be a little sore in the feet or in the joints. So keep an eye out for the veteran horses that have seemed to have received a new lease on life. In Sundays night’s Eddy Oakley Stake, the normally reliable Victor’s Pursuit made a break before the start and lost all chance for a repeat victory. However, Battleshoe Victor was impressive in victory and the final should be an interesting race.

We had another profitable evening as the Frog added some extra cash to the bankroll. On our first wager of the night we cashed on a $20 and $20 straight play on Mack In Black in race three as we added $116 to the billfold. We just missed the exacta in race six, then almost still cashed as their was an unusual double inquiry that could have made us a winner. More Than A Story was an easy winner in race eight but we couldn’t hook him up in our exacta. We went home a winner as our last wager in the 11th race connected as our $5 exacta with Winter Glitter and Funny Place added $79.50 for our cab fare home. For the evening, we wagered $130 and got back $195.50

Original Bankroll: $2,000

Total Wagered: $2,786

Total Return: $2,945.80

Current Bankroll: $2,159.80 (thru Sunday, 5/28

For Tuesday, May 30, 2006Race Two:   C U Next Tuesday raced well going first over last time out and should be right there again. Flo Nice And Easy had nice close in last outing, moves in and will be in the fray. We’ll box these two in an exacta play.

$10 Exacta Box – Flo Nice And Easy (2) and C U Next Tuesday (3).

Total Wager:  $20

Race Three:   Squawsalot knocking on door and tonight could be the night. Now Or Never suggestive effort when dropped to this class and figures into the calculations. McLock usually close at the finish. Let’s box these three in an exacta.

$5 Exacta Box – Now Or Never (3), McLock (4) and Squawsalot (7)

Total Wager:  $30

Race Six:   Fifty-Fifty drops to meet easier and it look like a winning spot. Topville Dynamite raced well in first Hawthorne start and rail puts him into play. Iron Bullet made first start of the year a winning one and can repeat. It’s another exacta box.

$5 Exacta Box – Topville Dynamite (1), Fifty-Fifty (2) and Iron Bullet (6).

Total Wager:  $30

Race Seven:   Odds On Casey takes a major class plunge and will be very difficult to stop. We’ll key him in a Pick Four play, also singling He’s The Real Deal in the 10th.

$2 Pick Four – Odds On Casey (2) in the 7th, Riverboat Roni (1), I’m A Thrill (4) and Anita Wind (8) in the 8th, Halo Heather (1), Talking To Angels (5), Crusader Bear (6), Sporty Jayla (7) and Lady From Above (9) in the 9th, He’s The Real Deal (7) in the 10th.

Race Eight:   Riverboat Roni ships in from Hoosier for this series and looks like a player. I’m A Thrill came on the scene late and it looks like she will again. Anita Wind tangled with some nice mares last season and is dangerous if ready. Let’s try another exacta box.

$5 Exacta Box – Riverboat Roni (1), I’m A Thrill (4) and Anita Wind (8)
