Frog Bounces Back

FROG DOOLEY

The constant rain that has fallen on the Hawthorne surface the last several days has washed away the excellent cushion that was laid down by the track crew, and on Saturday the surface was very hard. It was evident that several horses were affected by the hard surface, but as for handicapping purposes, the track still played fairly formful. Most winners were relatively close at the top for the lane save for Explosive Moment in the 3rd who exploded from 6th at the top of the lane at 25-1.

As for the Frog, the night began in grand style as Black Oliver scored on our $20 and $20 Win and Place play and we pocketed $110. Things continued to look bright as our $10 exacta in race two with Roy Olcott and Paladin Hanover added $54 to the billfold.  In race seven, we kept it rolling as we connected on our $10 exacta play of Thisbigdogwillfight and Buckmaker which added $82 to our bankroll. The 8th race should have been another winner for us but Out On A Bender was disqualified and cost us an exacta winner. The 10th race was the only one where we were totally out of the picture as Fox Valley Tribal won the Cubs Pace Final, which cost us our Pick Four play as we were alive going into the 10th. For the night, we wagered $162 and we put $246 in our pockets. The Frog went home with a smile on his face as he put $84 in his little piggybank under his favorite lillypad!

Original Bankroll: $2,000

Total Wagered: $1,104

Total Return: $1,128.80

Current Bankroll: $2,024.80  (thru Saturday, 5/13)

For Sunday, May 14, 2006

Race Five:   Duplicate has been knocking on the door and has been getting better in every start. This looks to be his graduating night, so we’ll back him in a straight play.

$20 Win & $20 Place on Duplicate (5)

Total Wager:  $40

Race Six:  Victor’s Pursuit has been flawless this season in three starts and her last two triumphs came with something left in the tank. We’ll string along with this winner in another straight play.

$20 Win & $20 Place on Victor’s Pursuit (5)

Total Wager:  $40

Race Seven:  Disgo To The Top drops to meet easier tonight and a mistake free trip is all that is needed to greet the track photographer. We’ll bet him straight up and key him in a Pick Four play.

$20 Win & $20 Place on Disgo To The Top (6)

$2 Pick Four – Disgo To The Top (6) in the 7th, Casey Victory (5) and Fox Valley Alexai (8) in the 8th,

Odds On Beth (4) and Sightings (5) in the 9th, Joyous Classic (1) and Harmony Oaks Gi Gi (6) in the 10th.   6 with 5-8 with 4-5 with 1-6

Race Eleven:   Cool Your Jets went a much improved effort in his last outing. Tank Man raced well at
Hawthorne last year and figures into the calculations. Bangkok Cruiser is already a winner at our meet.

Let’s box these three in our final play of the night.
